Dan began interpreting on stage in 1985. His more than thirty years experience shadow interpreting on stage spans over 100 theatre productions. He has toured nationally with a comedian, and occasionally acts without interpreting.

Dan has enjoyed a varied career in the nonprofit sector, including positions at Deaf CAN!, the United Way for Southeastern Michigan, and City Connect Detroit. A graduate of the Sign Language Studies program at Madonna University, Dan is a nationally certified interpreter (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf – CSC) with a broad range of off-stage interpreting experience.

Dan returned to Madonna University in 2007 as the chairperson of the Sign Language Studies department. His is the author of all content on Terptheatre.com, and he designs and maintains the technical aspects of all of TerpTheatre’s website and blogs – and for the production website for Police Deaf Near Far. TerpTheatre co-produced Police Deaf Near Far with Oakland University in October 2012.

Danny is currently a PhD student at Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh, Scotland), where he is conducting research related to theatre interpreting. Previously, he completed his PhD coursework in the Department of Interpretation at Gallaudet University. His research is funded by an award from Madonna University, funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities.
