Candide at Gallaudet

November 9 @ 8:00 pm - November 18 @ 10:30 pm

CANDIDE by Voltaire
Script by Scott Hunter (non-musical version)
directed by Theatre Arts faculty member Ethan Sinnott

The plot and adaptation of Voltaire’s biting satire, CANDIDE, follows Candide, a very naive young man, who is led through a series of outlandish, side-splitting misadventures that span nine countries in order to be reunited with his childhood love.

Throughout his journey, he encounters shipwrecks and pirates, war, passion, death by fire, hanging and impalement, inquisitions, earthquakes, volcanoes, revolution, slave traders, brothels, and sheep.

This production is taking place at the Gilbert C. Eastman Studio Theatre in the Elstad Annex.
