Patrick Hinds, Host of Broadway Backstory, a podcast focusing on the stuff that happens behind the curtains and in the minds of the people who bring us the best of Broadway.

Deaf West Theatre’s Spring Awakening is the subject of an hour-long episode of Broadway Backstory, a podcast hosted by theatre aficionado and author, Patrick Hinds.  One year after the closing of the groundbreaking Broadway run of Spring Awakening, Hinds weaves together details from several interviews to offer a unique look into the development of the award-winning production. The result is a fresh and insightful account of the development of the production, which includes the perspectives of Duncan Sheik (Composer), DJ Kurs (Artistic Director, Deaf West Theatre), Michael Arden (Director), Andy Mientus (Hänschen), Krysta Rodriguez (Ilse), Daniel N. Durant (Moritz), and Alex Boniello (Voice of Moritz).

From the podcast …

“… an historic moment for Deaf people …”

— Daniel N. Durant

Durant appeared in the TerpTheatre/Oakland University production of Police Deaf Near Far in 2012.
